reason for COB

different houses have different reasons for COBing. some houses have to COB because they can't make quota (sigma), or their new member class lost a ton of girls (sigma, zeta). but then why are houses like KD, phimu, AXO COBing? they're not struggling for members like some chapters.I'm sure phi mu COBs to gain girls to boost their GPA. as for the other two, they COB to boost house total and retention rate percentage so that during fall rush they can be bumped into a higher tier to cut more girls. I can't explain Gphi's retention rate, they've always been on the lower end but refuse to COB. that's their choice and they're happy with it. no disrespect there.
