My motto is: If you have to ask if it's inappropriate, you probably shouldn't do it/have it DURING rush. Think of rush as a job interview. Put your best foot forward. Some recruiters may not care if you have a tattoo/piercing, some recruiters may find it disrespectful or distasteful. Don't take that risk, you'll want to have all of your options open. And like any employment its harder to "fire" someone after they have the "job". So once your initiated or get your bid, pop that piercing back in, expose those tattoos.
