There are people in this world that just can't stick with something that gets a little hard -- jobs, classes, diets, sports team, social groups, sororities. Perhaps they were given trophies as children for showing up. Sororites take work. When you first pledge everyone focuses on you. It's all about you. It's like Christmas or your birthday for the first semester (or more). Then you are an active and its your job to "bring it" for others. Find your way. Add value. Make deeper friendships. All while getting great grades and participating in dozens of events. There are always some quitters in every chapter as there are in jobs and life. It would be nice if Bama chapters were 200-ish members instead of 400-ish. But they are not, so sororities have to break into smaller groups. It's another form of selection. Some figure how to do it better than others.
