OP, you hit the nail on the head. This is a lame ass way for Panhellenic to feel better about recs. You MUST have recs for each house, written by an alumna of that sorority. SHE will send the rec to the sorority chapter. YOU do not send anything. And that rec from someone who knows your grandparents or parents is WAY better than a rec from an alum who doesn't know you. She knows your family and how you were raised, and that counts for a lot.
