3500 is a number that a lot of actives seem to have heard from their exec members and Panhellenic reps, but I would take it with a grain of salt. There is no possible way we would have jumped 1000 PNM's in one year. @pnm, there are several reasons a house would take girls with low GPAs. For the more selective houses, connections are probably the only reason. There are a few houses that value looks above grades, and therefore are less picky about GPA. The one that could be remedied by a GPA cutoff, in my opinion, is houses that don't have a choice. There are two branches to this one; houses that have been bullied for having less attractive women and are now taking pretty girls with bad GPAs in an attempt to get the other houses off their backs, and houses that are basically forced to take grade and rep risks because the bid rate is so high. The second is more annoying in my opinion.
