I'm in a top new row fraternity and didn't go to preview day last year as I was only interested in one fraternity (the one I'm in). My recommendation is if you are from out of state, and you really don't know anyone, it would be invaluable for you to attend. You get to meet Rush Chairman, get on spring & summer rush party lists and you start getting an idea of where you feel comfortable. A lot of bids are given out over Spring & Summer (both new & old row) and a few remain at the beginning of the school . The more competitive the fraternity, the fewer buds remain. I received my bid over the summer. Bottom line, can't hurt and get networking and meeting active brothers! Good luck and welcome.
