Think you will find New Row fraternities ie Theta Chi, Sigma Chi & Pike more accepting than old row although I'm certain they have some. Go on each fraternity website and pull up past Fall Newsletters (some have newsletters all the way back to 2004)and they will list names & hometowns of new initiates. I looked recently for fun and old row are heavily populated w in state. As i recall, DKE, had close to 50% from Mobile, Alabama, the rest in state and maybe one or two from Atlanta!Theta Chi, SIgma Chi, Pike have more of a mix of in and out of state. FI noticed Sigma Chi, Thera Chi & Pike heavily populated w Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Palm Beach can't really recall many/any past the mason Dixon line but don't think they'd really care. Good luck and no worries! We have 30 fraternities and have one for everyone! I wouldn't focus on the Northern thing as it doesn't matter! Go where you are interested and you will know if you fit in!!
