Kappa Alpha Theta-for the 3rd year in a row, Theta hit a winner with their recruitment. The vibe during rush was "genuine, nice girls, involved, fun, non pushy feeling rush parties, felt welcomed, felt wanted, felt strong connections, beautiful girls who aren't overly made up." They have become known as a top house to rush for OOS girls and a top second tier house overall. They have bumped down several other houses. Fraternity members I talked to said they are a house they love to have "swaps" with (parties) because the girls are real and kind. Gamma Phi- didn't have a very successful recruitment. They were ranked low by many pnm's who saw them as a better case scenario for Sigma Kappa. They didn't make their quota and had to be put up for COB. It is a shame because they have one of the largest houses on campus and have been known to be on a rise in the past few years. One new pledge shared with me that the day after Bid day, they were called to a new member meeting. There they were given a strict long list of new rules which included no makeup/don't look to good for classes and no wet hair in class even if it gets rained on. Also no denim allowed to be worn anywhere, ever. She felt it was a very cult like environment and was not told any of that during rush week.
