If that was true there would be no tears on bid day. Once you get to pref you have a good chance, but it isn't 100%. I have known girls that didn't go to the house after they received their bid and said they were sick. Girls who cried through the first few hours, etc. Getting to pref is tough and there is disappointment especially if you were dirty rushed. I also know girls in aphi that were disappointed with their house and ended up dropping after the fall semester. I wouldn't put zta and aphi together though as zta definitely looks for a more well rounded girl.
