Summer to Fall is an extremely valid measure and is stronger than Fall to Spring. Everyone knows most seniors graduate in Spring so when a house has a surprising low percentage return in the Fall it says the house overall is weak. Not only have they lost their seniors but they have lost core members needed for formal recruitment.
