Pi Phi and AOII are strong chapters at Bama and nationally. They both did a great job during recruitment and made the full quota, and then some. I think this is misleading for both sororities. They might not participate in COB. They don't need to do. It is an option, and the sororities listed their numbers. The chapter total from upperclassmen not returning was only 4 away for AOII and 5 for Pi Phi (I think). They are both doing very well on campus and nationally. Sororities pick up girls all the time. COB is not always about recruitment. You can make the full quota and then need to pick up a few girls to start the fall with full chapter numbers, especially with surprises from a handful of upperclassmen girls not returning and having to change quota numbers at the last minute. If so, they would have increased their quota numbers by a few and avoided the situation. They both easily made quota. This was about a small shortfall in chapter numbers due to upperclassmen graduating or not returning. They are just too strong to be a part of COB. Those are just my thoughts. Also, they will retain so many more girls than some others.
