I am in one of the OR houses listed above. It was the one house I couldn't find a rec for - didn't know anyone - my house wanted me bad enough and it was policy to have a letter of rec on file before pref. They gave my social resume to a local alum and that alum wrote a rec on my behalf without ever meeting me or talking to me. It was all behind the scenes - I didn't know it even happened until after I was initiated. If they want you bad enough - the recruitment team will make it happen.
