I think too many Southern girls assume they have an in with OR houses but they have a lot more competition now, because more top students are coming to Alabama from the North, drawn by scholarships. No one is guaranteed a place anymore. Legacies, nope- those legacy policies are going away. Letters of recommendation don’t hold the weight that they use to. Also the dynamics within houses are changing and execs are realizing that bringing in only local girls not only doesn’t look great- it sets them back for the future classes as well. Southern girls we are sorry, but you have some competition and it’s not going to stop. So yes agree with the original poster. Old row is seeing through it all.
