Why you got dropped is one or many of these things: 1. GPA wasn’t high enough 2. Not enough involvement in clubs, sports and community service in high school 3. Questionable reputation 4. Your appearance (I know this is hard to accept, but for some it’s the case) 5. Something on one of your recs raised a red flag. Some alums don’t always write glowing recs. Some are brutally honest about you, your family, your ability to pay dues, etc. I know it sucks, but that’s why you need to really feel out who writes your recs before you ask them to do it. No rec is better than a bad rec. 6. Someone already in the house knows you and recommended you be cut early on. Always be nice to girls in high school that are older than you. 7. Someone in another house knows you and reached out to other rush chairs warning them about you (sad, but it does happen).
