was basically agreeing/adding to your point. The term new row is a bit decaptive because it doesn't really differentiate between a house founded in early 20th century and a house founded next year. The chapters of SX, OX, DX, Pi Kapp, and Pike at Bama, among others, are approaching or are in excess of a century old, have all initiated 2000 plus members, all have national and state senators and congressmen among their alumni (just like every old row house), and have all sorts of connected alumnae. Old row is kind of a good ol' boys club for people who are from Alabama and plan to stay when they graduate. Otherwise the difference isn't as big a deal. If you're from out of state or plan to leave the state when you graduate, you might as well not worry about old row vs. new row. All of old row and affiliated new row are prominent national fraternities.
