Nope. The Jefferson houses are in the position that there is simply not any land to allow for new houses to be built at the moment (there is in the near future, check the development plan). SigEp making the move is the result of them occupying the "Swing House" after making their return, the next opening was theirs to take (the old KA house). Acting like the alumni can roll up and go "here's $5m, let us build on university" is illogical. Where? That open sect of land you think would be viable for a house, but really isn't? Further, tons of alumni don't see the value of a University Blvd. house because it simply doesn't matter to most (you won't care in three years). They'll expand when the university gives them the space to expand. Until then, the houses will make improvements to their current structures and exist as they are. Seriously. Look at Delta Chi. They have one of the most powerful alumni of the University who actively advocates on their behalf. Are they not on university because the alumni wouldn't pony up, or because the University is meticulous about how it expands and utilizes the grounds it owns? The land around Jefferson/University is insanely valuable and the university has shown to be unwilling to allow blind expansion. Everything is planned far in advance, and the fraternities are still stuck in the 90s/2000s.
