It is always better to get recs from Alabama alumnae. If your rec writer has a connection to current members in-house ( very recent graduate with friends in-house, they are older but have a family member in-house), that is priority one. These carry as much ( or more) weight as a legacy status. Next, would be alumnae that have a strong connection to the house ( they hold an advisory position or are on the house board). Then would come alumnae from another university but they have a national or advisory position with the sorority or a chapter. Then would come alumnae that KNOW you ( or, your family) well and are in good standing with an Alumnae group. Next, a warm body that is willing to write you a rec. With that all said, any rec is better than no rec. Get your recs!!!
