I understand what you're saying about some girls feeling the way they do. I really do and I didn't get my first choice either when I went through. I just think you have to look at your situation and be really honest about what you can do about it. Now that I've been here for a few years and seen how recruitment goes, I'd just never tell someone to depledge and try again. I really have never seen it work out. Maybe it has, but I don't know about it happening here. No matter who the person is, I'd say if you want to be Greek at Alabama and are in a sorority, stay there and make it the best experience you can. I can't see myself in any other sorority than where I ended up, even though it wasn't my first choice. I have a friend who pledged at another school last year and ended up with her third choice. In the bid day pictures on FB, she looked like she was about to cry, then she was up and down the whole first semester and I kept waiting for her to drop, but she didn't. This year, she went back to school like a different person. She loves her sorority and can't believe how unhappy she was a year ago. For her, it didn't happen overnight, but it did happen as she got to know people better and got more and more into it.
