This whole argument is so tired. I have to argue with the “consistently low” GPA statement. Yeah, they’re the sorority with the lowest GPA, but a 3.0 or above is at least a B average. Is a B average really that bad? They’ve also improved their chapter gpa from a 2.87 to a 3.13 over the past 2 years. It’s not like they’re going to bring it from a 2.87 to a 3.5 overnight. I’d say improving by .26 in 2 years is a pretty good start. The Harley Barber thing was bad. Really bad. Put a huge stain on the whole house for a while. But also, that was 2 years ago now, and 3/4 of the girls currently in Aphi weren’t even in college when that happened. Tons of members got booted shortly after that happened, meaning the ones left were probably not part of the problem. Members graduate and chapters change, they aren’t the same house they were 2 years ago and neither are any of the other sororities on this campus. Stereotypes that might have been accurate in the past aren’t anymore. Y’all really hate to see any house other than your own work to better themselves. It’s really not a competition, no matter how much you think it might be. Encourage other women instead of trying to put them down. #PanLove.
