Active here (for the first time) because a potential new student asked me to see this site and what I thought. Wow, this site does an awful job of describing Greek life here First, it is an amazing and fun experience. Very few schools (if any) can match the size, surroundings, and social experiences we all share in Greek life here. Think it’s funny people come and routinely rank every house. I honestly know very little about other houses. Not saying I don’t get the thinking and reputation generally behind some of these ranks and reputations but it’s very much in the “way background” and not as consistent as you see here to make posts about over and over. Honestly, I only hold strong opinions about a couple of houses because of a few notable girls I’ve run across. The bad opinions aren’t necessarily of bottom houses, lol. I’d never rank All houses the way I see it here over and over. I’d just say I’ve run across too many girls in house x and y that give me reasons not to like them, have good friends in house a and b as well as mine and really like them and everyone else I’m ok with. And even at that I realize it’s based on a small sample. Frankly, there are 400 girls in my own house and I don’t even know them all! I can name my pledge class. Am in a pretty large group message with some of my pledge class and am close to maybe 10 or 25 girls, regularly hang out with 5 or so. We all don’t fit the house rep - it’s more complicated than the stereotypes seen here. Know and am friends with girls in other houses as well. You do sometimes notice why they are in their house, but honestly there are reasons they could be in many other houses too. Again I dont hold opinions about them because of their house, their reputation stands on its own I enjoy where I go and who I hang out with. Been to fantastic, boring and boorish parties at both top and bottom places, and met awful and wonderful people at both too. Your experience here is going to be very personal. If you know a lot of people from home when you arrive that may continue and expand. Old row does tend to be more important to these people because their network From home will be mostly there. If you are arriving without knowing anyone there are plenty of friends to meet in any house. It’s lots of fun. Enjoy! \n\n\n\n\n
