Block seating used to be all fraternities/student orgs until sororities started applying. Placement of blocks are based off GPA, extracurriculars/involvement, and size of organization. Since sororities tend to have better grades and involvement, they tend to get blocks closer to the front (explains why AXO alpha gam and aopi are in the front row). Some sororities opt not to because of tradition, and if you have a game day date you’ll sit in the fraternity’s block. Either way, it doesn’t really matter as a freshman because there’s no block seating in upper bowl.
