To clarify, APhi and DG both recolonized -- APhi was chartered in the early 1930s and came back in 2008; DG came to campus in the late 1940s and returned in 2011. So far, both are doing extremely well and have great girls, although people who think tiers matter consider them on the low end on the social ladder just because they're newer and, well, it's Bama. Kappa is one of the so-called Old Row sororities -- exclusive and hard to get in without family money and connections. On the other hand, they're considerably more open to out-of-state girls than their main competition. As Answer said, though, all the houses that do formal recruitment are strong and good and have a lot to offer.
