Houses haven't left the machine because there is a large part of each house that truly enjoys being in it. They like the perks and the parties and having extra power. They like the potential opportunities it provides. The houses you listed have knowingly elected their reps as president numerous times along with other chapters both old row and new row. Do I think the machine is detrimental to pretty much every part of sorority life? Of course, but if no one actually wanted to be in it we would leave. That's just not the case though.
