It really depends on the house. In mine, enough girls want to live out that if you want to live in it’s super easy. Some girls even do two or three years. In kappa, they expect sophomores to live in so if you are older and not on exec you can plan on living out. In alpha gam, it’s huge to live in as a senior so it’s hard to get a spot as a junior, let alone as a sophomore. Tldr each house has a specific method so I wouldn’t let this influence your rush too much. You may end up loving a house where living in sophomore year is impossible but that doesn’t mean you won’t eventually.
