Post number two nailed it. No one really knows what it’s like to be in a house, unless you are part of it. I know girls who have dropped from houses because they weren’t “feeling it, but these include drops from houses described here to be both friendly and not so friendly. My personal experience is that I didn’t connect with many of the houses described here as “good sisterhoods” as I didn’t find those girls to be as friendly to me! The other point is to compare the numbers in the houses to your high school. There are approximately 135 members in your pledge class, and over 400 girls in the house. I know there are bigger and smaller high schools, but on average the Pledge classes are as large as all the girls in your graduating class, and the sorority as large as all the girls in your high school. And even if you all came from the same ZIP Code, think of how close you were to being described as one stereotype! Probably that wouldn’t make sense. Given that why would you think the dynamics of 135 girls in a pledge class and 400 girls in the house are going to be all that differentFrom the dynamics of all the girls in your high school. So take all these GR rankings, stereotypes, and neat little boxes with a serious grain of salt.
