Well as a pledge you'll need a navy blue blazer with gold buttons. I suggest getting this from somewhere like JC Penney or Belk because it's going to get dirty and you don't want to waste a lot of money on it. Even consider checking thrift stores. As for full suits, if you're only going to get one just go with a classic black tailored suit so you can have something to wear to more formal events such as date parties and formal chapter when you're an active. When it comes to ties, definitely check out stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. Their ties are good quality and very reasonably priced. Just pick up a variety of colors/patterns. If you want you can get the novelty ties that have fratty prints on them like fish/dogs, but those are not necessary and typically look tacky and make you seem like a try hard in most situations.
