I agree that it's silly to rank anyone based on a pledge class that just joined a week ago, and that this post is dumb. That said, the Northeast is ALL about who you know. The big name schools have supper clubs that you don't get into unless you have the right name, address, or know all the right people. Same goes with certain clubs and other organizations. You won't even get a job in certain businesses unless you are basically a legacy. Right or wrong, it's no different than what goes on here in the fraternity and sorority world. Holding them up as an example of anything isn't exactly accurate.
