Because some people are insecure and they feel a need to make sure their frat or sorority ( which they view as a reflection of their own personal worth ) is socially respected. They tear down others in the hopes that will make their standing rise. Or they are just trolling to get s rise out of everyone--- which also speaks to someone's insecurities.
