It absolutely sucks that for a lot of freshmen (especially girls) this site is one of the only ways to get information about different houses and the greek system here, primarily because it completely misrepresents the entire greek experience, especially for mid/lower tier houses. This site is designed to make you believe that the top houses are the best and the rest suck; that's the point of a ranking, right? Newsflash: Everybody drinks and parties, everyone mixes, everyone has brotherhood/sisterhood. You're going to make amazing new friends, make amazing new memories, and ultimately be able to look back on a time well spent that you'll never regret. That's what it means to be Greek. That's something you keep forever. But how am I going to have fun if I'm not mixing with top fraternities/sororities? So I'm in a mid tier house, meaning we mix with other mid/lower tier houses. Want to know the funny thing? I have an awesome time at our mixers, and so do the houses we mix with. Because when it comes down to it, a mixer is a fraternity and a sorority getting together to drink, have fun, dance, etc. And that's the same whether it's a top frat and a core four sorority or two lower tier houses. Do not let this site trick you into thinking that greek life is only worth it when you wear certain letters. Do not let this site trick you into being terrified of ending up in a "bad" house. Please DO get pumped for rush and for all of the amazing opportunities to follow.
