My problem with the Greek system and this whole website is that it encourages individuals to view themselves as superior to other just by virtue of what letters they wear. Why should anyone think that because they're in a supposed "top" house, that they're better than anyone else, especially someone in a "bottom" one? Don't we all say we joined Greek life for the sisterhood or the brotherhood or to meet more people and make new friends? We didn't join so we could brag that our house is the top one on campus. And all of you who are arguing details about who's "moving up" and who's "falling in the ranks" are just wasting your energy. Joining the Greek community shouldn't be about who's better than whom, it should be a celebration of finding and bonding with people like yourself and having pride in what your organization stands for; not who has the best mixer schedule or the hottest members. Once we graduate, it's all meaningless anyway. Please, look at the bigger picture and stop tearing each other down. "Top" houses are only viewed as such because it's "where they've always been" and because new member see them as more ideal, they have their pick for a new pledge class, and then the cycle continues. It's so arbitrary it's laughable. To everyone on this site: stop obsessing about ranking and bad mouthing people for the sake of making another house look better. Forget about rankings. Who cares where you fall if you're happy with the people around you? Why does it matter?
