For me rush was brutal (being rejected as a person by your peers never feels good), but I think it was worth it for me. I transferred to Cornell and I was quite lonely until I found my fraternity. Yea I know I could probably find clubs or other ways to make connections, but for some reason something about a brotherhood (Or sisterhood) really brings people together. So in summary I think it is worth rushing, but be prepared for possible rejection. In terms of telling people about what you do on campus I wouldn’t stress too hard about it. Just tell them what your interest or hobbies are off campus. I rushed in the fall as a transfer with no on campus experience and I still found a house if that tells you anything.
