^^ not all houses do it like that but it’s pretty accurate. If we think you’re going to ABC house- because you look or sound or seem like someone already in ABC house, we are cutting you. Which is sad because that means the very stereotypes we try to avoid are something we stick to when choosing who WE think will choose us. It’s a mind game. There needs to be a better system- absolutely. Hopefully the new people will come in and make changes in panhel. Hopefully people will stop reading rankings and be conned into thinking there’s only certain houses for them. My roommate freshman year was a gorgeous girl who didn’t get a bid and a week later they were all trying to get her. Why? Because each top house assumed she was going to someone else. And the middle ones thought she was above them. (She ended up in the middle house she wanted all along). When it’s all based on what we think you might be thinking— it’s never going to work. It’s like a sociology experiment. My opinion is that you look at the houses who need members- get in there and start gaining people like yourself and then turn things around.
