You're gonna be fine either way I have a friend who didn't rush as a freshman and her social life was just fine. if u are social and have friends, it won't change. my friend and I also stayed quite close despite me being in a sorority and her being independent. Yeah like we spent less time together but we stayed friends and I brought her to stuff as my date. You will be fine either way. Give it some time and try your best to see if you can find a home there, if not, honestly life is fine without a sorority as long as u aren't a total social recluse (which u probably weren't if u got into a decent sorority) before rush.
