Your families (if you actually consider them your family) are paying large sums of money for you to attend a place people dream to be studying at. Many of you will complain at one point during your time here that you've learned nothing in class and that this school is a Ponzi scheme, but the truth is is that YOU are the ones who refuse to open your minds and learn anything. People thinking their better than others just because of a house they live in or the people they associate with is absurd. Many of us haven't made even a scratch on the world yet, and we'll still swagger on with our inflated egos thrusting past the supposed 'inferior' ones out of the way. We're here to learn, to experiment, and hopefully to create; and yet the only factor that a huge chunk of this student body uses to measure another human's worth are the Greek letters that they wear on their chests, their hats (it's for sororities Sig Pi), and on their backpacks. The world is changing; the personal limitations we put on our thinking will only reflect the limitations we'll experience in our lives later on. Boss' need their companies to succeed in a global world, and that means hiring open-minded and brilliant people, if not in the US than somewhere else. Knowing the same secret words that the CEO vaguely remembers learning is no longer the whopping thing that will get you a job. It's never wrong to have fun, especially with people you believe you connect with. Fun is essential to getting through a place like this. It's only wrong when you believe you're the only ones who are able to live life to its best. No one at our school is inferior, despite what rankings may say. Everyone has different outlooks, and loving those different outlooks is the best way to accept the real world. I'm not in green life but I'm seeing this all from a far and it's just sad.
