There are more than 3x the amount of freshmen registered for IFC rush this year. It will be competitive to get a spot in certain houses as a result. However, don't let that discourage you. Kids that are dirty rushed may not get bids. In fact, being dirty rushed can sometimes worsen your chance at getting a bid. So, don't worry about how many bids are "predetermined" prior to rush. No house has the luxury to do this, because ultimately it is a two way street and no house is guaranteed anyone. However, as I said, the houses that you mentioned indeed have much more leverage in this relationship. Phi Psi and Sig Pi not as much but definitely more than the houses below them. It is definitely still worth it to rush the houses you mentioned, it's just that more guys are being considered so yeah, it'll be more difficult. On North, Sigma Chi and Delta Chi will have a lot of guys come through. Try to stand out when you go to one of the smokers there and make an impression. On West, same is true for Sig Phi/AD/Sig Pi/Phi Psi/DU. Just be aware of this during rush week. Don't focus on it. It isn't worth spending time trying to figure out whether or not you will earn a bid from one of these houses. Instead, focus on being yourself and showing off how dope you are to the house. At the same time, play your cards right and strategize to the degree that feels right for you. I hope this helps... good luck.
