there are also people genuinely ranking other sororities as well. i'm a big fan of tri delt and axo for instance, and I've given them both glowing recs because i think they are awesome. so there are good self ranks, bad outside ranks, and good outside ranks. they are all going to offset each other, so really, just go through rush and keep an open mind.
