Honestly it comes from a mean girl mentality. If you care about ranks you peaked in high school and have a weird superiority complex to make other girls feel bad about their sorority. Literally every school has their sorority’s ranked differently too so what’s top tier at one school may not be at the next school, so outside of your college nobody really cares about your letters.
