I know rush is hard and some of you may be “disappointed” by your options - and/or if you went to two today, you may end up with your second choice tomorrow. #1 if you absolutely don’t see yourself in either option or if you only have one and don’t see yourself there, and you KNOW that, let your Pi Chi know tonight and stay home tomorrow. You can make up a reason why you can’t go through w it, if you want - you don’t necessarily know what ties your Pi Chi has to any of the houses, even if you know what house they are in. Keep in mind: - the chapter that chooses to use one of their bids on you WANTS you. Be respectful in how you say and act if it’s not your top or one of your top choices - I am an emotional person myself, so I understand… if you don’t get the house you wanted or are otherwise let down by your bid, please, please, please, PLEASE try everything you can not to cry on bid day. I know emotions can be hard to control, so if there is a way to remove yourself for a few minutes to get your composure or take a breath, do so. Big sunglasses are also good :) It’s hard, just remember that the women in the chapter that give you a bid care about their sisterhood and think highly of you - do everything you can to be respectful and control your emotions if you feel disappointed - everyone can understand being bummed out by not getting the house you “wanted”, but no one who has made a commitment and cares about their letters should EVER be made to feel looked down on or disrespected by a PNM they ultimately thought highly of. If you are just a little let down, or maybe you didn’t get the houses you had as your “top” choices going into or as rush unfolded, I encourage you to give it a chance. Everything happens for a reason, and every chapter at USC is amazing. There are a million girls going through, and more quality girls in all houses is a good thing for everyone :)
