Continued: A rec will not get you into a sorority but can help you from getting cut. Many pnm's will have their recs and many sororities require a rec on a pnm to offer a bid. So if a sorority is choosing between two pnm's to ask back, liking both equally, the one with the rec will have the advantage. A rec also serves as an introduction to the sorority and puts you on their radar. It also sends a positive message to the recruitment team that you took the time and trouble to secure a rec for their chapter and showed that you are serious.
