People talk. When someone drops people know about it and usually they know why. Sororities don't live in individual bubbles, the members of different houses talk to each other. You'd be surprised what gets around. And that other comment is correct about the sophomore quota; there is no requirement for any house to take sophomores, it's just a separate quota from the freshmen that sororities can't go over. Sophomore rushing has its advantages and disadvantages. Is it easier? Eh. Depends on who you know and what they think of you during your first year here.
