To some extent, yes it will. So after pref, recruitment staff will look at how many girls are left and likely to accept a bid versus the number of houses and determine quota. So lets say for a hypothetical scenario quota is 100 girls per chapter. If you suicide, you must rank between 1-100 OR enough girls who ranked higher than you get put in their other pref house to bump you up to one of those spots for you to get this house. If you do not fall within quota and suicided, you are dropped. If you don't suicide and list both houses on your mraba, it becomes a numbers game. The computer will look at how you ranked the house versus where you fall on their list. If you are ranked in one of those 1-100 spots for one house and not the other, you'll go there. If you fall below 100 for both houses and this is when quota additions happen. So the way things are now, if you do everything you're supposed to and you maximize your options, you are guaranteed a bid somewhere. Due to girls prefing different houses, it's not as simple as every house gets 100 girls. So if you're someone who fell below the cut off for both house's lists, you'll get added to one of those house's bid lists, meaning they get 101 girls. They typically take into consideration the girls #1 choice when this happens. The big thing to note is, NO ONE knows who the quota additions are. You know a house has them, because they got more girls than quota, but you don't know which girls were the addition because this all happens through a complicated computer formula. So at the end of the day it's up to you, but in my opinion there's more risk to suiciding. It's better to get any bid than to be called by your Pi Chi the morning of.
