when i rushed, my sorority had girls on the varsity equestrian team, and cheerleaders. there was one varsity sport that sometimes was allowed to rush and join, but we had one from that team that went all the way to us on bid day and then their coach supposedly showed up at the bid day party and took her away crying. we also had another girl on another varsity team, and one of her teammates was in another sorority (i don't want to say the sports because it may give it away). it's a shame that the office of student life can't work with the cheerleaders and dancers, they aren't even varsity athletes. i understand to some degree the real varsity athletes, but i think even that is unfair. being a member of a sorority makes these already outstanding young ladies even more well rounded, and they sororities would love to have them.
