although you sound like a very nice person - it sounds a lot like noblesse oblige when you write. That a sorority chooses a poor girl with no money (how did she pay her dues etc.?) was "accepted" by the other girls. Did it make them feel good - is that what you are trying to say? Having been Rushed and also Rushed other girls - it would never have occurred to me to ask whether someone had money or not - you simply tried to figure out whether someone would fit in. In many sororities this means are they attractive, do they have money etc. Personally I am not knocking the system it is what it is. To deny it is to live in denial it. You sound real and I hope I know you.
