This is just false. Sororities don’t pay for quota additions. Quota additions work like this: 1) sorority A and sorority B invite a PNM back for pref round, but after pref, both sororities rank the PNM toward the bottom of their bid lists. 2) the PNM’s ranks sorority A as her 1st choice and sorority B as her second choice (important: she does rank both houses, if she suicides, she would be cut from recruitment in this situation) 3) During the matching process, both sorority A and sorority B hit quota before they get to the bottom of their lists of girls who attended their pref. 4) because the PNM ranked both houses after pref, she is guaranteed a bid, so she ends up in sorority A (she gets her first choice since her second choice, sorority B, had also met quota). Since sorority A already met quota before they got to her, she’s considered a quota addition. So basically, if a house ends up with a bunch of quota additions (like DG this year), it means that a lot of the girls they preffed also preffed at other houses that met quota and ranked DG first. Typically this happens with sororities who did better than normal during recruitment so they didn’t make as many cuts before pref round based on their projected results.
