"Top tier connections" is actually pretty much right as far as history / connections go. The 9 fraternities he listed are pretty huge across most of the country (except KA which is concentrated in the south, and Chi Phi - who can get you very connected if you stay in Georgia but otherwise not so much). It is worth noting that Kappa Sig is off campus for the next 5 years so no real point in listing them. As far as their Georgia chapters go - that is mostly preference. The chapters he listed make up UGA's "old row" (the very first fraternities on campus, originally founded between 1865-1878) so their history and alumni networks within Georgia are enormous. They vary in size and disposition today, so your best bet is to try to hang out with as many of them as you can and just pick the group of guys you get along with best (some of these chapters are very exclusive however).
