From a recent grad - The more selective sororities have their bid list planned in the spring around darty season so they can invite girls up to dirty rush them. It's dumb, but don't get upset if one of these houses drops you. They drop almost everyone, especially those who don't know anyone in house. The order they make you line up in doesn't matter for the first round. p sure they just do alphabetical. In later rounds, some houses plan out the order specifically based on who they want most, others just have a specific order so they can make sure you talk to someone you have something in common with. It just depends on how the house does recruitment. A handful of sororities take recruitment more seriously than others, and have weird rules like bringing girls they like to certain rooms during house tours. MOST sororities at uga aren't like this though. Some sororities have dry bid days, others don't. Don't let this influence your choice - you'll have endless chances to party regardless of where you end up. IF YOU GET BID PROMISED, DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP. TELL YOUR GAMMA CHI. Houses that do this do it to every girl because their goal is to have every pnm rank them highest and get first pick. They're explicitly told not to do this, and can get fined for it. Look around at pref round. The girls you see have a 50/50 chance of being in your pc, so if you like the other pnm's at one house's pref round a lot more, that's something to think about. Stick around for snap bids. Most of the "top" and "middle" sororities do it, they're just more secretive about it. It's not a bad thing just has to do with numbers / how many ppl drop out of rush. Also get off this website. It's dumb and doesn't give an accurate depiction of any sorority / their reputations on campus. After freshman year no one really cares about your Greek affiliation and if they do they're weird.
