Subject:
rankings, and why they really do not matter

Poster Message:
I have been through recruitment on all sides now and always got a kick out of scrolling through greek rank to see the "rankings" for the sororities. I never really read much into it until this year though, because I started to really think about how pointless the concept is. The entire concept of top tier, middle tier, bottom, etc blows my mind. When I was a PNM first going through recruitment, I genuinely was looking for a great group of girls and a fun addition to my experience at UGA. That is exactly what I got from my "top tier" house. But I also would have gotten that experience from literally any other house. They seriously are all the same at the end of the day. So many of my friends are in other sororities. Some in old row, some in "new row" houses. But there is nothing that makes any of us better than anyone else or "higher ranking" because of a certain pledge class or instagram layout. I'm so tired of seeing such shallow posts on this website especially when I feel like the majority of people in Greek Life at UGA also have friends in all sororities. Stop being shallow, we are all part of this community and we should be striving to become better, more aware, and more inclusive as a whole. Not splitting each other apart from the inside.
