I'd say it depends on what you hope to get out of joining a sorority. If you are doing it for "clout" then maybe only the top tier sororities are for you. If, however, you hope to join a sorority to develop lifelong friendships, have a home away from home, get involved in a philanthropy, hold a leadership position and have a fun social calendar then I recommend going into recruitment with an open mind. The reality is that very few of us on campus think about "tiers" within Greek Life. Most of the sororities at UGA are actually pretty similar in terms of their members and most of us have many friends from all different houses. Each year around 1600-1800 girls will participate in sorority recruitment and the quota for each house will be around 80. So statistically speaking, the process usually works out best for those who go in with an open mind.
