It may be different for your campus, but they had staff on campus for a week or so during the spring semester prior to the fall they were colonizing to begin marketing and generate some interest. When fall came around, some of the staff were here observing during formal recruitment and then had a registration process for those interested and interviews with alumnae and similar party rounds and invitational rounds compared to formal recruitment. They were selective in their process and chose around 175 new members out of the over 300 that registered for their process. They seem to be doing well and have started adding some additional members thru COB, but still have a ways to go in terms or building, organizing and strengthening the organization. Their next hurdle will be how they compare academically with the other groups in Fall. Now this post may get a bunch of hate and your question may have responses accusing us both of being Alpha Phi's Not sure about you, but I'm not, but I have been following their progress for the past year. Ignore the hate. If you are interested, research the organization and find out if you believe strongly in their ideals and values. Check out their philanthropy, foundation and find out about the local alumnae chapter if their is one near you. You may also need a recommendation so reach to to family, family friends, teachers, church families and church members to try and get a few.
