Honestly a lot of it just comes down to luck and if you have recs and friends in the chapter. All the sororities want pretty girls who have good personalities, are smart, and have good high school involvement that will hopefully reflect a high level of involvement that the PNM will bring to the chapter. Unless you have girls in a certain chapter who know you personally, what tier you end up in mostly depends on your ability to have a good conversation with everyone you talk to and present yourself well. There honestly isn't a huge difference between top and bottom tier girls because if someone is introverted or nervous or having a bad hair day, they can get cut from all the top houses but still be a really good candidate for a sorority. On the flip side, there are PNMs who are average but get into a top tier house because they have several friends in that chapter. Bottom tier houses can't be as selective, but they still get to weed out the girls they really don't like. Every house is searching for the same qualities, so just do your best to impress everyone and know that if you end up in a bottom tier house, that's not a bad thing and you'll most likely still be very happy there. Keep an open mind and don't let the superficial bs cause you to have a bad week!
